Well Chlorination Program
This program is intended to assist landowners in the process of disenfecting a well and plumbing system with chlorine to kill or to reduce bacteria.
The WIWD will fund up to $250.00 (plus GST) for partial chlorination and up to $500.00 (plus GST) for full chlorination.
This program is intended to assist landowners in the protection of groundwater supply, hazard elimination from open wells to humans and livestock, and the promotion of the importance of water quality within the West Interlake Watershed District (WIWD).
An application must be submitted for each abandoned well. The WIWD will provide assistance up to $1,000.00 per well. Completed applications must be returned to the WIWD office.

Purpose of this program
The West Interlake Watershed District's Well Water Protection program is crucial for safeguarding the quality and safety of groundwater resources. This comprehensive program includes two sub-programs: the Well Sealing Program and the Well Chlorination program, each serving vital roles in protecting public health and the environment.
One application per registered landowner per year, dependent on executive board approval.
