The WIWD Executive Board is composed of five Sub-District Chairpersons. Each municipality within the District appoints two individuals to each sub-district, ensuring they are from that area.
One appointee must be a ratepayer, while the other can be either a councilor or a ratepayer, but not both councilors. The members convene annually for the Annual General Meeting, where they elect the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the WIWD Executive Board by ballot.
If a Sub-District Chairperson is elected as the Executive Board Chairperson, their sub-district will appoint another member to serve as the Sub-District Chairperson and sit on the Executive Board.
The Board holds responsibility and accountability for all programming matters. They hire staff to aid in the creation, approval, and implementation of programs and projects, as decided by sub-district and Board members.
